    Average temperatures in Vancouver vary somewhat and are seasonally temperate. The area is in the top 68 percent of tourist destinations for pleasant weather. Weeks with ideal weather are listed above. If you’re looking for the very warmest time to visit Vancouver, the hottest months are August, July, and then September. The warmest time of year is generally mid-August where highs are regularly around 86.6°F (30.3°C) with temperatures rarely dropping below 58.9°F (14.9°C) at night.

    Precipitation (Rain or Snow)

    If dry weather is what you’re after, the months with the lowest chance of precipitation in Vancouver are December, November, and then March. The lowest chance of rain or snow occurs around early August. For example, on the week of July 30th there are only 0.8 days of precipitation on average. By contrast, it’s most likely to rain or snow in mid-December with an average of 5.7 days with significant precipitation the week of December 17th.

    When can you find snow in Vancouver? Weather stations report a bit of annual snow likely to be deepest around no given month, especially close to mid-December. Powder (new snow) is most often falls around December 17th. Please note that a value of 0 for snow in the graph below may either mean there was no snow, or that snow is unreported.

    Vancouver has slightly low to average humidity compared to most tourist destinations. The least humid month is July (48.1% relative humidity), and the most humid month is December (73.6%).

    Wind in Vancouver is usually moderate. The windiest month is December, followed by March and February. December’s average wind speed of around 5.7 knots (6.6 MPH or 10.6 KPH) is considered “light breeze.” Maximum sustained winds (the highest speed for the day lasting more than a few moments) are at their highest in mid-November where average top sustained speeds reach 10.6 knots, which is considered a gentle breeze.

    Spring (March through May)

    Humidity and temperatures combine to make this season feel moderately cold. Highs range from 74.5°F (23.6°C) and 53.2°F (11.8°C) with warmer temperatures in the later months. Rain is frequent with 14 to 21 days of precipitation per month. Spring is busy for tourism, which makes it a good time for those looking for things to do.

    Summer (June through August)

    The middle-year months have very comfortable weather with high temperatures that are comfortable. These months see moderate precipitation with 4 to 10 days of precipitation per month. June – August is the busiest season for tourism in Vancouver, so lodging and other accommodations may cost more than usual.

    Fall (September through November)

    Fall daily highs range from 82.4°F (28°C) and 50.5°F (10.3°C), which will feel comfortable given the humidity and wind. It rains or snows a very great amount: 9 to 21 days per month. Tourism is the slowest during these months due to the weather, so hotels may be lower priced.

    Winter (December through February)

    Weather is too cold this time of year in Vancouver to be enjoyable for warm weather travelers. The average high during this season is between 54.8°F (12.7°C) and 45.1°F (7.3°C). On average, it rains or snows a great amount: 18 to 22 times per month. These times of year are fairly slow with tourists.
