    Average temperatures in Peru vary barely at all and are extremely temperate all year. The area is in the top 3 percent of tourist destinations for pleasant weather. Weeks with ideal weather are listed above. If you’re looking for the very warmest time to visit Peru, the hottest months are January, February, and then February. The warmest time of year is generally mid-January where highs are regularly around 81.2°F (27.3°C) with temperatures rarely dropping below 64.1°F (17.8°C) at night.

    Precipitation (Rain or Snow)

    If dry weather is what you’re after, the months with the lowest chance of precipitation in Peru are January, February, and then March. The lowest chance of rain or snow occurs around early August. For example, on the week of July 30th there are only 0.4 days of precipitation on average. By contrast, it’s most likely to rain or snow in late January with an average of 2.2 days with significant precipitation the week of January 22nd.

    When can you find snow in Peru? Weather stations report a bit of annual snow likely to be deepest around November, especially close to early November. Powder (new snow) is most often falls around November 5th. Please note that a value of 0 for snow in the graph below may either mean there was no snow, or that snow is unreported.

    Humidity and Wind

    Peru has slightly low to average humidity compared to most tourist destinations. The least humid month is August (58.6% relative humidity), and the most humid month is February (65.9%).

    Wind in Peru is usually moderate. The windiest month is November, followed by December and October. November’s average wind speed of around 5.7 knots (6.6 MPH or 10.6 KPH) is considered “light breeze.” Maximum sustained winds (the highest speed for the day lasting more than a few moments) are at their highest in late November to early December where average top sustained speeds reach 12 knots, which is considered a moderate breeze.

    Fall (March through May)

    Humidity and temperatures combine to make this season feel warm. Highs range from 81.2°F (27.3°C) and 77.6°F (25.3°C) with colder temperatures in the later months. Rain is somewhat common with 4 to 8 days of precipitation per month. Fall is the busiest for tourism, which makes it a good time for those looking for things to do.

    Winter (June through August)

    The middle-year months have very comfortable weather with high temperatures that are comfortable. These months see moderate precipitation with 2 to 3 days of precipitation per month. June – August is the slowest season for tourism in Peru, so lodging and other accommodations may cost less than usual.

    Spring (September through November)

    Spring daily highs range from 80.1°F (26.7°C) and 77.8°F (25.4°C), which will feel very nice given the humidity and wind. It rains or snows a fair amount: 3 to 5 days per month. Tourism is fairly slow during these months due to the weather, so hotels may be affordably priced.

    Summer (December through February)

    Weather is perfect this time of year in Peru to be enjoyable for warm weather travelers. The average high during this season is between 81.2°F (27.3°C) and 79.3°F (26.3°C). On average, it rains or snows a noticeable amount: 6 to 9 times per month. These times of year are busy with tourists.
