Average temperatures in Hanoi vary greatly. Considering humidity, temperatures feel hot for about half of the year and otherwise nice with a fair chance of precipitation about half of the year. Humidity and Wind

Hanoi has some extremely humid months, and above average humidity throughout the year. The least humid month is December (67.2% relative humidity), and the most humid month is March (84.3%).

Wind in Hanoi is usually calm. The windiest month is May, followed by February and June. May’s average wind speed of around 4.5 knots (5.2 MPH or 8.3 KPH) is considered “a light breeze.” Maximum sustained winds (the highest speed for the day lasting more than a few moments) are at their highest in late February and early March where average top sustained speeds reach 7.6 knots, which is considered a gentle breeze.

Spring (March through May)

Humidity and temperatures combine to make this season feel warm. Highs range from 95.6°F (35.3°C) and 71.1°F (21.7°C) with warmer temperatures in the later months. Rain is somewhat common with 5 to 8 days of significant precipitation per month. Spring is the slowest for tourism, which makes it a good time for those looking for deals.

Summer (June through August)

The middle-year months have very comfortable weather with high temperatures that are quite warm. These months see the most precipitation with 10 to 13 days of precipitation per month. June – August is the second busiest season for tourism in Hanoi, so lodging and other accommodations may cost slightly more.

Fall (September through November)

Fall daily highs range from 89°F (31.7°C) and 75.3°F (24.1°C), which will feel very nice given the humidity and wind. It rains or snows a significant amount: 5 to 11 days per month. Tourism is the busiest during these months due to the weather, so hotels may be higher priced.

Winter (December through February)

Weather is somewhat cool this time of year in Hanoi to be enjoyable for warm weather travelers. The average high during this season is between 75.4°F (24.1°C) and 62.4°F (16.9°C). On average, it rains or snows a smalll amount: 2 to 3 times per month. These times of year are fairly slow with tourists.
