    If dry weather is what you’re after, the months with the lowest chance of precipitation in Sydney are February, June, and then April. The lowest chance of rain or snow occurs around early-to-mid-August. For example, on the week of August 6th there are only 1.4 days of precipitation on average. By contrast, it’s most likely to rain or snow in early-to-mid-February with an average of 3.8 days with significant precipitation the week of February 12th.

    Humidity and Wind

    Sydney has slightly low to average humidity compared to most tourist destinations. The least humid month is August (49.5% relative humidity), and the most humid month is February (65.9%).

    Wind in Sydney is usually stronger than usual. The windiest month is January, followed by December and November. January’s average wind speed of around 6.1 knots (7 MPH or 11.3 KPH) is considered “light breeze.” Maximum sustained winds (the highest speed for the day lasting more than a few moments) are at their highest in mid-to late November where average top sustained speeds reach 21.7 knots, which is considered a fresh breeze.

Rain is very common with 9 to 14 days of precipitation per month. Fall is busy for tourism, which makes it a good time for those looking for things to do.

    The middle-year months have slightly cold weather with high temperatures that are comfortable. These months see moderate precipitation with 8 to 14 days of precipitation per month. June – August is fairly slow season for tourism in Sydney, so lodging and other accommodations may cost slightly less.

    Spring (September through November)

    Spring daily highs range from 59.5°F (15.3°C) and 51.2°F (10.7°C), which will feel very nice given the humidity and wind. It rains or snows a great amount: 9 to 13 days per month. Tourism is the slowest during these months due to the weather, so hotels may be lower priced.
